Definition
Our School Districts Overlay shows the geographical areas that determine which students attend which schools within a given district. These lines define the jurisdiction of a particular school district, indicating where its educational services are provided and which neighborhoods or regions are served by each school within that district.
Our School Districts Overlays are organized into three sub-categories:
- Elementary: This layer shows the geographic area designated for the operation and administration of public elementary schools, typically serving students in specific grade levels, such as kindergarten through 5th or 6th grade.
- Secondary: This layer shows the geographic area designated for the operation and administration of public secondary schools, typically serving students in grades 6th-12th or 7th-12th.
- Unified: This layer shows the single administrative entity responsible for operating and overseeing both elementary and secondary schools within a defined geographic area, providing education from kindergarten through high school.
Key Benefits
- Useful for those seeking to buy a new home as a guide for informed decisions around education for children
- A great reference for land agents to quickly answer questions for buyers.
Tips:
- Labels show the name of each district.
- Click on the layer to see the district school names when zoomed in.
Limitations: This overlay should be used for reference only. Users should be cautious of potential temporal lags in updates, omissions, and positional precision errors.
