Definition
Google's KML (Keyhole Mark-up Language) and ESRI's shapefile file formats are the most common ways of sharing project-level geographic data. As a Land id™ subscriber, you can download and share data from your maps in KMLs and shapefile formats.
Key benefits
- The ubiquity and portability of KMLs and shapefiles offer a simple, standardized way to collaborate on projects.
- The ability to extract the table from a shapefile will allow you to record map data with highly detailed feature information and then export it whenever you need it as a table. Using common spreadsheet applications, you can use this data to analyze and report on the aspects of your property or project you have mapped.
