How to manage your active logins

Definition

An Active Login is any session where someone is currently signed into your account. This includes the Land id desktop and mobile apps.

Why it Matters

Land id limits active logins to three per account, aligning to our Terms of Use.

Examples:
  • If a user signs in to the mobile app on both an iPhone and a tablet, that counts as 2 active login sessions.
  • If a user signs in on the same laptop using Chrome and Safari, that counts as 2 active login sessions.
  • If a user signs in on a laptop using Chrome and also signs in to the mobile app on their phone, that counts as 2 active login sessions.

This limit is designed to improve account security and better protect your maps, folders, and project data.

What Happens If No Action Is Taken

Active login limits will go into effect on your account between August 3-7, 2026.

At that point, if your account has more than three active logins, the oldest active login(s) that are exceeding the limit will be signed out automatically. Also, any additional logins will be prevented

How to manage your active logins

If multiple people are using your account today, choose one of these options:

  • Move to a Land id Team Plan: Get access to license management, unlimited map creation; centralized billing; and more. Request a Land id Team Plan here.
  • Log out of unused devices: Go to your unused device. Then open Land id, go to the Profile menu, and select "Sign Out."
  • Transition users to their own account:  If other people are using your account, you need to notify them about this change and tell them to create their own account.
      1. Instruct them to sign out of your account, and create a separate account at: https://id.land/users/sign_up
      2. Have them tell you what email address they used to sign up with Land id.
      3. Transfer (or copy) their maps and/or folders to their new account
